Tips for the Traveler
  Visas : Passports should be valid for 6 months from your date of arrival. Visas are also necessary for everyone (except South African nationals visiting Egypt for less than 90 days).
  Health issues and risks: A yellow fever certificate is required if you are traveling from an infected area. Cholera, malaria (not in Cairo or Alexandria), polio, rabies and typhoid.
  Time: GMT + 2 (GMT + 3 from May to September)
  Electricity: 220V, 50Hz
  Weights & Measures:  Metric

  Countries Egypt and Sudan
  People:  The population is concentrated largely in the highly fertile Nile delta, where, including the urban muhafazah of Cairo, more than half of the total population lives. Half of all Egyptians, however, still live in rural areas.
  Climate:  Very hot from April to November, peaking in July and August. During winter, it's dry with cool nights. Expect winds from the Sahara in the desert
  Language: Arabic; English and French widely spoken
  Religion: Muslim

Saturday is the day of rest in some areas, and when businesses and public transports are shut down.
Although road signs are marked in Hebrew, Arabic and English, parking is a problem in major cities.
