Tidbits... |
 |
Scandinavia is
expensive so, if traveling on a budget, watch your
spending. |
 |
If you
really want to see the contrasts in the Scandinavian
landscape, you should travel by car. Fiords, mountains,
waterfalls, idyllic coastline and panoramic scenery
appear before you in almost every direction. |
 |
Pack the clothes you
would normally wear in Northern Europe, including jumpers
and a raincoat, and take some strong walking shoes. |
 |
It can be both
pleasant and profitable to travel in Scandinavia outside
the school and industrial holiday season, which lasts
from about 16th June to 18th August. Prices tend to be
lower, and there is less bustle. |
 |
Be aware that in the
summer the sun never fully sets in some, mostly northern,
areas. |
 |
You can hope to see the Northern
Lights, or Aurora Borealis to call them by their
scientific name, between November and February.
Unfortunately, however, you are never guaranteed this
treat, as it depends on certain meteorological conditions
and your location. |
